  • When posting or communicating in any way on EMC you agree to:
  • Make no attempt to get the information of users under the age of 18.
  • Not post pornographic content, link to sites of pornographic or adult nature that display uncensored sexual activity. This includes explicit verbal descriptions of sexual activity.
  • Not post or link to extreme violence, nudity, or other offensive materials.
  • Not upload malicious code or viruses.
  • Not engage in unlawful multi-level marketing schemes on EMC.
  • Not initiate any charge backs on purchases made on EMC.
  • Not bully, intimidate or harass any user.
  • Not engage in Illegal Activities: Users will avoid promoting activities that are banned by law in the United States. (Examples: Where to find warez, describing how to use torrent software for illegal use, promoting underage drinking, saying you're going to kill someone.)
  • Not engage in Prohibited Activities: Users will not describe methods to circumvent rules of conduct for gaming systems and services referenced on EMC. (Example: "Here's how you steal Minecraft")
  • Not engage in Name Calling: Referring to a user directly by an unflattering epithet. (Example: "You're an idiot.") When users disagree, they should attack one another's ideas, not each others' person.
  • Not engage in Indirect Insults: Referring to an aspect of a user's life in a blatantly unflattering fashion. (Example: "People who play Halo are morons.")
  • Not engage in Discriminatory Content: Presenting in a positive light language or pictorial illustrations that defame persons based on race, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, or disability. Users cannot use terms for any of the above to refer to other users or activities. References to rape and incest are patently offensive and will be dealt with accordingly.
  • The discussion of recreational drugs, including buying and selling, is prohibited on EMC. Anyone found trying to buy, sell or link to locations selling drugs, could result in a punishment up to a website ban.

  • Boosting site trophies is strictly prohibited. Boosting includes (but is not limited to): spamming communication, creating alternate accounts, etc.

Disruptive Communications

  • Disruptive communication is anything that inhibits the clean flow of communication between users on EMC.
  • Disruptive communication includes but is not limited to:
  • Flooding: Posting an excessive number of threads or posts is disruptive to communication. Don't do it.
  • Non-English Communication: EMC is an English language service. Communication, particularly content viewable by many users, will be conducted in the English language. This also means that users will use the English language properly. "Leet speak" and alternating upper/lowercase letters (i.e. "tYpInG lIKe ThIS") are difficult to read and will not be tolerated.
  • Off-Topic Posting: Posting content in a section it doesn't belong in (Example: Posting a thread about a 360 exclusive on the PS3 forum.) Replying to content with unrelated information.
  • Excessive quote towers: Quoting users to reply is okay. When it starts going into multiple quotes, however, it just expands the page longer than it needs to be and starts to look obtrusive. If you feel the need to quote multiple users, do so one at a time.
  • Miscellaneous: Communication that disrupts the easy browsing of the site will not be tolerated. This includes exceedingly large pictures, large ASCII art, or links that go to a destination other than the one stated. (Example: Rick rolling.)
